Submission slots explained

Why placement opportunities have limited slots and what happens when they fill up

Written by BeatPlugg Team·Updated May 18, 2026

Why limited slots?

Every opportunity on BeatPlugg has a maximum number of submission slots, often around 30-50 depending on the brief. This is intentional:

  • Fewer submissions means less noise for the curation team.
  • Your beats have a much better chance of being heard and considered.
  • It creates healthy urgency - submit early to secure your slot.

Slot progress

Each opportunity displays a progress bar showing how many slots are filled, for example 17/50. Once the bar hits 100%, no more submissions are accepted.

What happens when slots fill up?

When all slots are taken, the opportunity closes for new submissions and moves into Reviewing Submissions while the BeatPlugg team reviews and shortlists beats. The submit button is disabled once the opportunity is full or expired.

INFO

Slots can fill up fast, especially for high-profile artists. Turn on email notifications so you don't miss new opportunities.
