After submission closes
Once an opportunity's deadline passes, or all slots fill up, the BeatPlugg team begins the review process:
- Every submission is listened to and rated internally.
- The strongest beats are shortlisted.
- A Beat Pack is assembled from the top-rated submissions.
- The pack is sent directly to the listed recipient, such as the artist, management, A&R, or label.
Beat Packs
A Beat Pack is a curated collection of selected submissions for a given opportunity. It's what the artist or their team actually receives: a focused set of beats tailored to the brief instead of a crowded inbox.
Beat Pack series
BeatPlugg may send multiple Beat Packs for the same artist over time. Each one is numbered, for example Beat Pack #1, Beat Pack #2, and so on. You'll see a Beat Pack badge on each opportunity card so you know which round it is. Your submissions page groups all Beat Packs for the same artist together under one collapsible header.
Beat carryovers
If your beat was not selected in a previous Beat Pack but stood out during review, it may be reconsidered and carried forward into any future Beat Pack for that same artist. Reconsidered beats appear inside your submissions alongside the new Beat Pack they were carried into. This does not use any additional credits and carryovers are marked so you can easily distinguish them from fresh submissions.
What if my beat isn't selected?
If your beat isn't selected for the pack, you'll see a "Not Selected"status on your submissions page. Don't be discouraged — pack sizes are limited, briefs are specific, and not being selected doesn't mean your beat wasn't good. Keep submitting to new opportunities that fit your sound.
